of the Sith
"It turns out that Palpatine is the
key to the entire plot line for the
Star Wars prequels. Palpatine's
diabolical political and military
machinations are what set up the
events, which finally allow the
Sith conspiracy to unfold in the
open with the Jedi unable to
stop it.
By the time the Jedi figure out
the identity of the Sith Master,
it's already too late. Palpatine
has waited year after year remaining
in the shadows until he found what
was necessary to give Palpatine the
power to emerge and fight the Jedi
in the open.
One of the most clever schemes
Palpatine has, and Palpatine has many,
many shocking concepts, is making the
chosen one, who can destroy the Sith,
into being an actual Sith.
In the end, the Jedi prophecy of the
chosen one, who will bring balance to
the Force, must be both a Jedi and a
Sith.
It becomes destiny for the chosen one to
annihilate the Jedi prior to eventually
ending the reign of the Sith permanently.
This is why prophecies are so dangerous
because they remain ambiguous enough
where almost any series of events can
actually fulfill the prophecy.
It was very wise for Palpatine spending so
many years dedicated to Anakin Skywalker when
Anakin had no father. Palpatine became the
only father figure Anakin has ever had in his
life and Palpatine ended up being the person
Anakin loves most not including Padme, of
course.
Darth Vader unwittingly allowed the dark side
to kill Padme, but Vader was unable to make a
final sacrifice by losing Luke. There was
enough love of Padme in Vader's heart for Vader
to destroy himself and Sidious to save Luke."
