George Lucas speaks about Anakin
Skywalker (the future Darth Vader)
from The Phantom Menace:
"When I was working on the old
Star Wars films, I had a basic
idea of what happened to Anakin
Skywalker back in the days when
he was a Jedi Knight, but I didn't
really have any specifics of what
transpired.
When I began writing the script
for The Phantom Menace in 1995,
the most difficult decision was
to determine when I would begin
the story of Anakin.
I fully realized having a nine
year old child as a primary character
in The Phantom Menace was going to
irritate and even outrage certain
segments of the fandom.
There are some fans who want Star
Wars to be like the Terminator
movies where you have nothing but
fights and battles. That's not what
Star Wars is about. Star Wars has
a heart. It has action, but even
more time is dedicated to exposition
and character development.
I have a solid reputation for
maximizing the acting performances of
my actors and actresses. This was
proven by the fact that Sir Alec
Guinness was nominated for an Oscar
Academy Award for his performance of
Obi-Wan in A New Hope. The first
Star Wars film was also nominated
for Best Picture of 1977 by the
Academy.
However, what's so great about Star
Wars is that I can do whatever I
want no matter how absurd it is and
the fans will still line up for weeks
in advance to be the first to see
Star Wars in theaters. I could
literally have two hours of
Neanderthal cave drawings and if
I called it Star Wars it would be
extremely successful.
This gives me the flexibility to
utilize my full artistic vision. I
admit none of the Star Wars films are
what I see in my mind because with
limited resources and time you can't
achieve everything you want. In the
end, you run out of money and time
so you just have to give up and
release the best film you can.
I enjoy the freedom Star Wars gives
me. I made the exact same Star Wars
film 6 consecutive times in a row.
Not a single Star Wars fan figured
this out until after SuperShadow
revealed the existence of the Star
Wars plot script formula.
Many fans complain the revelation
of the Star Wars plot formula ruined
their life and childhood memories
because all the Star Wars movies
are the same. I don't really care
about being original.
If a particular formula works, you
keep at it. This is also why the
Indiana Jones films are all based
on the same story formula. If you
don't know about SuperShadow.com,
then you can live your whole life
without realizing all the Star
Wars film episodes are duplicates.
SuperShadow is the best thing to have
ever happened to Star Wars. He is
the greatest blessing in my life."
